Finished 7th in the 200m breaststroke at the World Championships, Barcelona 2013 and 8th at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Won a silver medal as part of the 4x100m medley relay team at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona.
Set new PBs in the 50, 100 and 200m breast at the 2013 Australian Swimming Championships to take both the 100 and 200 titles and qualify for the Barcelona World Champs.
Finished ninth in the 200m breaststroke at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
A senior member Sally is the darling of the Australian swim team. Admired by her team mates, staff and sponsors. An excellent public speaker Sally is regularly called on to speak to corporate and sporting groups.
The great results just keep coming for Sally with a personal best time and the SILVER medal in the 200m Breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. As a heat swimmer in the 4 x 100m Breaststroke Relay, Sally was an important part of the GOLD winning team.
A Perth girl originally Sally moved to train at the AIS in 2005. After several years last year Sally moved to Adelaide to train with Peter Bishop. A member of both the Beijing and London teams Sally is proving herself tougher and faster each year.
At the World Championship Trials this year (now – in 2013) Sally won both the 100m & 200m Breaststroke events giving her two individual swims in Barcelona as well as a becoming a valued member of the
4 x 100m IM Relay Team winning Silver.
Out of the pool Sally studies Industrial Design. Sally has recently completed a book documenting her experiences leading up to and at the London Olympic Games. The book was inspired by diaries written by Sally’s great aunt during her own experiences as a competitor at the Berlin Games in 1936. The book will be released in May 2014 and has been cleverly written and presented as two stories of elite athletes, their experiences, emotions and growth as a result of their sport.
